Between The Atlantic (Print)
£80.00Price
This work considers community as a condition shaped through proximity, sound, and the shared occupation of space. Developed during travels in Senegal, from Dakar to Gorée Island, the project is informed by the island’s layered history as a site central to the transatlantic slave trade. As a point of departure and forced passage, Gorée Island holds a complex legacy of movement, and violent disruption of community. Against this historical backdrop, the work attends to the presence of contemporary life.
